Since entering the golf game, Nike has become synonymous with sleek, marketable products that fly off shelves, thanks, in part, to the company's partnership with the world's top golfer, Tiger Woods. Among Nike's many golf-related products--drivers, shoes and accessories--is a line of irons.
Nike men's irons feature a handful of offerings, headlined by VR Forged Split Cavity Irons, which retail for $1,079 a set in 2010 and cater to golfers looking for more control and forgiveness on the fairway. Other iron sets include the TW (Tiger Woods) and MachSpeed lines. Each line features a 2 through a 9 iron, and a pitching wedge.
While not as diverse as the men's line, Nike women's irons feature three distinct offerings: the MachSpeed, VR Full Cavity and Slingshot sets. The VR Full Cavity iron includes six irons and four different wedges. Nike says the Slingshot set is the most forgiving of the three. Nike women's sets retail for $700 to $1,000.
Nike also has two sets of irons for kids. Both are sold as part of the full Tiger Woods set of clubs. The TW Black Set features seven clubs, including four irons, and retails for approximately $240. The TW Red Set features four clubs, including two irons, and retails for less than $200.
Nike irons are available at most golf retailers, including Golfsmith and the Golfsmith website. Golfsmith's site features an array of Nike irons, for men, women and children.
Reviews for Nike's diverse line of irons have been positive, with most reviewers mentioning their looks and forgiveness. After experiencing some early growing pains, Nike has become one of the more popular golf retailers in the market.
